6 Predicted 2018 Interior Design Trends for Your New Home
December 6, 2017
Okay, so you’ve got your new home…now it’s time to decorate. This can be a very daunting task, so here are some of our predicted 2018 interior design trends:
Matte Appliances: Sheen is so 2017. For 2018, it’ll be all about stripping away those unnecessary distractions, such as gloss and polish. This unexpected surprise will have all of your friends plotting to copy your style…but you’ll always remember that you’re the true trendsetter.
Faux Finishes: Next year, it’s all about illusion. When you’re decorating on a budget, items such as removeable wallpaper and stick-on tiles and faux wooden beams will trick even the harshest of critics. As an added bonus, whenever you get sick of your design, it’s cheap and easy to change it up.
Gray: Sure, gray has been popular for quite some time, but it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. Grays are extremely versatile and complement almost every color. For 2018, we suggest pairing your grays with taupe, to add some peaceful dimension.
Black and Indigo: We predict the hottest color of 2018 will be a mix of black and indigo, a color which allows your decor to shine. This will add a modern feel, especially in spaces that are primarily made up of white and pink tones.
Marble: Mark our words – Marble will be making a huge comeback in 2018. Utilizing the classic white and light grey colors or something a little bolder, such as black and white, marble is sure to be a very popular material for flooring, tabletops and countertops.
Velvet: Velvet used to feel old, but what was once . Sofas, pillows, curtains…you name it, it’ll be great in velvet. This will add texture, while still being comfortable and soft.
There you have it, folks. While your friends are all decorating their houses with 2017 top trends, you’ll be ones that are ten steps ahead.
